A professor of economics, John Stricklin Spratt, Sr. (1902-1976) taught at San Angelo Junior College (now Angelo State University) and Southern Methodist University. Henrietta Larson was the first woman to join the faculty of the Harvard Business School. She was hired as a Research Assistant in 1928 at the request of Norman S.B. Gras.
